Former state Rep. Rob Wallace of Tampa and a veteran insurance executive, Nancy Baily, are accepting appointments to the board of directors of Florida’s state-backed Citizens Property Insurance Corp.

Their selections were announced Tuesday by Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, who has two of the eight appointments to the board.

Baily is a former chair of the Florida Insurance Council with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, most recently serving as President and CEO of Travelers of Florida, the second largest provider of property and casualty insurance in the United States. Wallace, 59, served in the Florida House from 1994 to 2002, earning a reputation as a fiscal conservative and small business advocate.

Two vacancies remain to be filled on the Citizens board, both by Gov. Rick Scott.
